State Fair Youth Dairy Cattle Show

The State Fair of Virginia is sponsoring a youth dairy cattle show at the state fairgrounds on Saturday, September 26. This event will be for Virginia youth only and does not offer an open division this year.

There are some changes in operation from previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Refer to the  “COVID Guidelines, Safety Precautions, Logistics-Dairy” document for special instructions that will be in place for the show.

Frequently Asked Questions

 4-H and FFA members who are currently enrolled in Virginia are eligible to compete. Exhibitors must be at least 9 years of age by September 30 of the current year and must not have had their 19th birthday before January 1 of the current year.

There is no fee for 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

Friday, September 25 from 3:00 P.M. to 8 P.M.

 

Saturday after exhibitors have shown in their final class.

Ribbons will be awarded to those placing first through tenth in each class. There will be no premiums this year, but each youth will receive a scholarship for participating. A total of $7,500.00 will be divided equally between all exhibitors in the Youth Dairy Goat and Dairy Cattle shows.

No.  The State Fair of Virginia is sponsoring the Youth Dairy Cattle Show. The fair itself has been cancelled, but, as of this writing, the Youth Dairy Cattle Show will proceed.  IF THIS CHANGES, IT WILL BE POSTED ON THIS PAGE IMMEDIATELY.
